And so begins the life and many deaths of Daniel Fontana, detective for hire. A gumshoe who, for the purposes of the Dead Detective! series, we keep meeting just at the unfortunate end of another hardboiled adventure.
He is dead at the end of these adventures, each and every one of them, make no mistake.

Like a bad penny, he just keeps turning up. And not just Dan: the villainous Copperhead; the lovely Holiday Heart; the excitable Kit Kelly; and maybe a few more all make their debut appearances in these stories.
And this is just the beginning. This volume started as an experiment to see just how much story I could cram into four pages, experimenting with style and form along the way. I look forward to handing future volumes off to other artists to see what they can do with the concept.
